"Necessity has been a priceless spur which has helped men to perform miracles against incredible odds." - Orison Swett Marden
The story, as it is told, is that David defeated Goliath, with a sling and a stone. Insurmountable odds. The strong against the "weak." A story of faith. Some choose to live without faith and I will not argue against your reasoning. Some read the Word, but don't live by it. I know a few. I will cast my lot with them. I will not preach here, but I will not hide behind the vail of this fallen world either. I teeter on the edge of faith and the lack thereof daily, but I also know that deep within my soul, faith resides. It was hand stitched into my being. My Goliath is well documented and I will not run from it.
I choose to wage war against it.

Hi ib, I wish you peace within, that your inner battles are few and far between.
Missed you out here these last few days, hope all is well.
With smiles, Jenny
Nicely written. We all have our Goliaths to face. As a Christian, I don't know how people fight giants without the strength of God, without Jesus in their corner. Maybe the strength of righteous men and women is the strength of God whether they acknowledge it or not.
We all have our own giants to face. And that's a line from a Christian song my band plays often.
Jenny, as always, thanks for stopping in. Inner peace is hard to obtain at times but I'm getting there. I'll be making the rounds.
DA, I struggle with my faith but know that our creator guides us if we simply listen and open ourselves to the whispers. Too often, we try to live our lives with no guidance and it normally has consequences.
Alex, I have decided not to run from my past. I never expressed my opinion then, but have found an inner voice that needs to be spoken out loud. Take good care, my friend.
Very well said. Thank you for sharing your inner struggle with us.
One of my favorite Bible stories since I was young. I've always been inspired by the faith and confidence of young David.
Chrys, thank you. It is difficult for me to share these insights in to my life but I have found that it is therapeutic and by the off chance that someone stumbles upon it that is having issues of their own and takes away some solace from it, sharing my story is worth it.
Karen, I am becoming "reborn, again" and the story of David brings me hope. Thank you.
What a very lovely and intimate post. Thank you for opening up and sharing!
Torie, thank you. Hope to see you around another time. I'm not all doom and gloom. There is fun to be had!
The Phoenix is often mentioned in the old serial Dark Shadows soap opera... and I'm rewatching it now. Laura Collins is constantly reborn as the phoenix. I'm also writing in the A to Z on DNA traits... my 9th year of participating.

Jeanne, I was not aware. The only reference that I have as it pertains to the Phoenix is X-Men and Jean Grey. I participated in the challenge years ago but took a long hiatus from blogging. I have been finding it difficult to keep the creative juices flowing this year but that has a lot to do with life being hectic. I'll stop in and join your fun. Be well and thanks for taking the time to stop in.
